Chapter 15 - The year of the Snake!

"The roof will be done by the new year." That was a rash comment!

No….it wasn’t and isn’t! To be fair, it is being done as we speak but has to be continued when we don’t have slashing rain and the gustyist of gusty winds. However, it will be a thing of great beauty when it is finished as my husband is a perfectionist. After that, we can put the back wall in place and finally have windows and a door. Marvellous!

Back of the building on 1st floor – no wall, windows or door. Bit draughty!

Meanwhile, down in the shop we continue to have very pleasant days with a constant stream of curious customers popping in. Some to look and others to purchase. All are welcome and I am beginning to meet some very interesting people.

On a Saturday just before Christmas, my first visitor was a very elegant, retired Bishop who had been directed to introduce himself to me as he is a trustee of a South India charity. His visit was followed by my friend the Buddhist Nun from the Meditation Centre at the end of the road. While she was chatting, my Tai Chi teacher popped in and a lively conversation ensued. Later that afternoon a lady came in and commented on how
attractive the garden lanterns were and would be perfect for the yurt she was building in her garden. She then mentioned that she was a Shaman! You couldn’t have made it up!

I am very happy to say that at long last I have the best selling fine pintuck tunics back in the shop. They arrived last week and I have introduced a gorgeous bright Indian pink to add to the very popular indigo blue and pewter grey. They retail at £65 and are available here on the website, as well as in the shop.

I am off to India on 10th March for 3 weeks and will return 3rd April. During that time the shop will be closed and so will the online shop I’m afraid. I do apologise. This year is going to be a little ‘stop and start’ until the building is completely finished, which I am hoping will be October?

Chinese year of the Snake celebration parade -  St Leonards- on -Sea

This is the Chinese year of the Snake.
A particularly good and prosperous year although there will be some challenges in career and finances.

Stay strong and resolute and all will be well.
