Chapter 18 - The Magic of India Tour is nearly here!

Goodness, last year was a year that history will remember as ‘interesting times’.

The shop in Bexhill has been open for a year now and during this first year we have had many very interesting and talented visitors to the shop. Bexhill has the reputation for being a town populated by the over 80’s. Well, let me tell you. It’s just a number. I have been honoured to meet some extremely clever and feisty people ‘of a certain age’!

My two trips to India last year were very happy and successful and now I am beginning to get the rhythm of Bexhill I have been more focused on what I am making and buying. I am getting very excited about the Magic of India tour taking place in March, we do have a couple of places left and with the help of the TCI – Go India team, it is going to be a really memorable two weeks of sightseeing, visiting unusual locations, glamorous shopping and the best places for eating and relaxing. For the first time visitor to India or the ‘once in a lifetime trip’ visitor it is perfect! Find out more on our travel pages.

The building continues to be restored very slowly although the rain still seems to find another way of getting in and soaking through the ceiling even though we foolishly think we have solved the intrusion. Progress is so much slower than we had ever anticipated but we plod on and keep reminding ourselves of the end result, which will be fabulous.

I hope everyone had a joyous Christmas and that 2026 will be more positive, more productive and constructive. Thank you to everyone who visited my shop last year, especially those clients from Dulwich who came down to Bexhill and popped in to see me.

Wishing everyone happiness, kindness and prosperity and an exciting 2026.
