Jaadu Fashion Show 2017

Last Thursday 30th November saw the 2017 Jaadu Fashion Show, held locally in West Dulwich at our branch of Café Rouge. The turnout was wonderful, filling Café Rouge to the brim with friends of Jaadu in support of our chosen charity Karuna.

Karuna - Jaadu's chosen charity

Inspired by Buddhist values, we exist to end caste-based discrimination, poverty and inequality in India and Nepal.

Our work with individuals focuses on education, dignified livelihoods and gender equality, transforming communities and changing society.

Since 1980, Karuna and its supporters have enabled people to overcome caste discrimination, finally gaining their own dignity and realising their potential as human beings. Based in the UK, we work with in-country partners towards achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals of eliminating inequality, ensuring access to humane and decent work and basic education for all - with no-one left behind.

The show

We showcased 5 models of various ages, shapes and sizes, each with 5 looks each. We showed a wide range of Jaadu own label classics, such as our kantha stitch robes and jackets, pintuck printed blouses and our newly arrived jeans. The AW17 ranges from Raga and Treaty also featured, alongside Treaty's stand out jewellery. The show finished with the French couturiers Les Filles d'Ailleurs collection, perfect for the advent of party season.

Thank you for coming!

A huge thank you to everyone who came last Thursday to support Jaadu and Karuna. We raised a fantastic amount of money for Karuna, which they will match. Join our mailing list for more information on upcoming events in the Spring.

Behind the scenes

Jaadu's fashion shows are always a team effort, from the models to the stylists and dressers. Before the show there are fittings, make up, hair, run throughs, running orders - a lot of preparation and organisation!
